Alex Knight
Alex Knight founded EDGE Labs in 2003.  His focus at EDGE Labs is on
board and strategic advisory work for media, technology and consumer
companies as well as public market investing.  Prior to founding EDGE Labs,
he was a Managing Director of ARCH Venture Partners, a seed/early stage
technology venture capital firm with nearly $1.5 billion under management.

Recent advisory p
rojects include Coffee Equipment Company, creators of Clover
(merged with Starbucks), Datacastle (www.datacastlecorp.com),
allyall (www.allyall.com), NewsCloud (www.newscloud.com),
OverCast Media (www.overcastmedia.com) and a stealth intellectual property
company, among others.

Mr. Knight has been a director of Classmates Online (top ten internet
portal/community site, purchased in 2004 by United Online), mForma (entertainment
for mobile devices), Dantz Software (b
ack-up software, purchased by EMC), Nimble
Technology (enterprise data integration software,
purchased by Actuate),
ImproveNet (leading internet home improvement site, now part of IAC) and
GreaterGood (leading internet charity shopping site) among others.

Prior to joining ARCH in 1997, Knight helped found several start-up
companies, including NetBot, the first internet
comparison shopping site and
Throw, an early innovator in internet community building.   Both were
acquired by Excite@Home/ATT.  He also advised t
he founding team at
About.com, a top 15 website (IPO then purchased by Primedia, now NYTimes).

Previously, Mr. Knight was an Executive Vice President at News
Corp/MCI Internet Ventures where he managed editorial, production,
product marketing, and strategic development for the venture,
including the award-winning iGuide. He joined News/MCI from Microsoft,
where he was Director of Business Development and Creative Affairs for
online services and broadband media. In this capacity, he managed a
variety of marketing, creative, product, and business development
groups focused on consumer online services and Microsoft's interactive
TV strategy.  His group also managed many of Microsoft's relationships
with leading television, cable and print media companies.

Prior to Microsoft, Mr. Knight was Director of Business Development
for Continuum (now Corbis), a pioneering interactive media company
owned by Bill Gates. He also spent five years at Apple Computer in a
variety of product marketing, evangelism and new business management
positions.

Knight's speaking engagements have ranged from Harvard University and
the University of Washington's Entrepreneurship Program to the Cannes
Film Festival and American Film Institute.

He holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, University of
Pennsylvania, where he was recognized for academic distinction and a
BA in English from Stanford University.
